The Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery (OMFS) at Scudder Memorial Hospital, Ranipet was established February 1988. We specialise in diagnosis and treatment of conditions and diseases affecting the head, neck, and face region. Our highly trained Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons are dedicated to patient welfare and are available round-the-clock. In cases of road traffic accidents, our OMFS team forms an integral part of the first respondent team and plans the treatment accordingly. The surgeons collaborate with one another and with other specialists at Scudder Memorial Hospital to provide comprehensive care to patients. All treatments provided are cost effective and utilise advanced techniques and equipment. Our department has recently collaborated with Paediatrics, and ENT department of SMH in setting up a multi-disciplinary management to treat Cleft lip & Palate and holds Sleep Lab to perform Sleep Study. Our department is the first in a mission hospital setup to hold an inhouse Sleep Lab.

DR.SAM RAJ G

Dr. Sam has been serving here at SMH for the past 16 years since 2008. In 2010 he was given additional responsibility as Deputy Medical Superintendent . In 2014-2017 he went into pursue his post graduation in maxillofacial surgery and joined back in SMH in the year 2017. In 2018 he was given the responsibility of taking charge of the NABH Accreditation as a Coordinator. He successfully led the SMH quality team and the hospital through the pre-assessment and final assessment and enabled to get the full accreditation. He went on to do his Fellowship in Cranio Maxillofacial surgery at Narayana Hridalaya, Bangalore between 2021-2023. He rejoined SMH in September 2023 as Craniofacial surgeon and is supporting administratively taking charge of the Quality and the human resources and IT departments.
